Who does not want to achieve success? How will know how to exactly go about in a
structured way to the goals one wants to achieve? The mantras to success gives
the qualities one need to have to achieve the success desired
The
4Ds: Dedication, Determination,
Dynamism, Decisiveness
Dedication: No one has ever succeeded
without this quality. The dedication shown by Indian scientists like
M.S.Swaminathan has resulted in the green revolution in India and the country
has achieved self sufficiency in food production.
Determination: When Dr.Kurien of Amul was determined to make milk powder out of buffalo
milk, the whole world laughed at him .This has never been achieved earlier in
any country. But Kurien’s determination worked and he produced commercially the
product and the production continues today. The very same companies in milk
production got a surprise of their life.
Dynamism: Dynamism gives life to
one’s goal and the determination to achieve the same. Dynamism is not physical
dynamism, but mental dynamism of thoughts. Thoughts should keep on coming to
the mind, so that new ways of achieving success can be found. When thoughts dry
up, actions come to a halt. A Dynamic leader like Steve Jobs brought Apple to
where it is now.
Decisiveness: Procrastination is not a way of leaders. Decisions need to be taken
so that things can proceed with pace. Procrastination only delays the decisions
and is a stumbling block to success
.
The
8 Ps: Passion, People skills, product,
positive thinking, patience, paying back to society, perseverance, prayer
Passion:
Artists who are passionate about their goals have
produced wonder art works. The Hindi film, Sholay is a resounding success and
seen even now, since the film was produced with passion by the artists. Efforts
to recreate ‘sholay ‘did not result in the same success
People
skills: Result in others aligning to your goals and
contributing to the efforts. People
skills draw others to the ideals and there are even voluntary efforts to the
goals of the achiever: Sardar Vallabbai Patel’s people skills resultant in the
present day United India.
The Product: Product produced by an individual /company should be a hall mark
so that customer s keeps buying the same again and again. We still do not have
a substitute for the humble stapler that we use every day
Positive
thinking: Positive attitude sets the mind in the
positive direction and makes the person optimistic and hence enhances the
leadership traits of a person. On the other hand, negative thinking demoralizes
people around. : When Rattan Tata was acquiring land rover, and Jaguar, many
were discouraging him. In spite of that his positive thinking leads the group
to acquire all these and move forward
Patience: Patience is required for some processes to get complete when there
is a specific incubation time, which cannot be altered. Something similar to the time required for
cooking a dish. Being impatient at this
juncture will only spoil the dish.
Patience when needed is a virtue.
Paying
back to society:
Enshrined in the structure and culure of the Tata Group of India, the
Group is respected in the society and welcomed all over the world. This has
enabled the group to expand globally. This mantra was given by the founder of
the group, Jamshedji Tata.
Perseverance: it is said that 90 %
failure is the result of 10 % success. Failures are common and are the stepping
stone to success. So efforts in spite of failures can only lead to success.
Wright Bros, failed many times before they succeeded in a flying machine.
Prayer: Prayer brings mental peace. A successful person goes through stress
and the mind needs peace to get prepared for further efforts.
4 D
+8 P = the winning combination. And brings the smile on everyone’s face
Smile
is the outcome of: Sustainable mission, innovation, love, empathy and success
Sustainable mission bring smiles to people,
as they can see the effects in the long run.
The innovation of a new idea is cherished over generations. The
computer, the telephone, the internet, face book, all these products to day,
bring smiles to the make the society happy and smile. Had electricity, jet
engines and aero plane has not been invented, imagine the world of today. These
inventors have even risked their lives to invent and innovate. Love and empathy
unfortunately is diminishing in today’s word and there is a need to increase the
empathy of everyone in the society, to promote peace and understanding. The
love for others makes one to do things for others and hence bring smiles to the
entire society. All the good happenings in the world are traced to love for the
near and dear, for the country and for humanity. Gandhiji's love for society
not only for India but for the world has made him to be an icon the world is
celebrating. It was Swami Vivekananda’s word of love, addressing the gathering
as ‘brother and sisters’ in the world religion conference in Chicago, made the
world stand and watch his word.
